KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Supervise, train, and mentor farm personnel, including technicians, laborers, and support staff.
• • Coordinate research activities and field trials with researchers and other relevant stakeholders
• • Maintain effective communication with research staff and management, ensuring farm activities align with research objectives.
• • Oversee crop production, including planting, irrigation, pest and disease management, and harvesting
• • Sustainably manage fields, including practices that improve soil fertility and minimize soil degradation
• • Facilitate research activities by providing logistical support, resources, and necessary infrastructure.
• • Maintain accurate records of farm activities, research trials, and resource utilization.
• • Ensure proper maintenance and repair of farm infrastructure, including buildings, irrigation systems, and research facilities.
• • Oversee the maintenance and safe operation of farm machinery and equipment.
• • Develop and manage the farm’s annual budget, ensuring cost-effective resource use and adherence to financial guidelines.
• • Prepare regular progress reports and updates on farm operations for the Head of Farm Management, Country Representative and relevant stakeholders

Job Qualifications / Skills

• Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or Agricultural Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in farm management preferably in a research setting
• Knowledge of Agricultural practices and farm machinery operation
• Strong management skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Good communication skills
